Alliant Intl. University

Human Library (San Diego Campus I-MERIT)

The aim of this event is to promote social change by creating a respectful environment to hear personal stories from marginalized or misunderstood community members. Food and refreshments will be served.

Date: October 15, 2019
Time: 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Location: Alliant International University Walter Library 10455 Pomerado Rd. San Diego, CA 92131

What’s your story? Alliant International University is looking for people to tell their stories as human “Books." Human Books will help to challenge stereotypes through respectful conversation. Your book title would relate to your experience of adversity or social exclusion (e.g., Refugee, Abuse Survivor, Sikh, etc). Our goal is to help each other better understand others in our communities and to say “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Human Books will available to be “checked out” by small groups during the event. Faculty, staff, students and community members can sign up as a Book or a volunteer. Perhaps you’d like to nominate someone you know.
