November 8 is recognized as the date for the annual National First-Generation College Celebration to honor the anniversary of the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965.

This event is designed for the first-generation college student community. Its purpose is to assist first-generation students with navigating the graduate school application process. Furthermore, it’s created to celebrate the accomplishments and endeavors of the community.
