Alum Bio:

Antonia Caretto, Ph.D., is a fully licensed clinical psychologist in solo private practice in Farmington Hills, Michigan (Metro Detroit). Her 1991 doctoral dissertation was "Familial Homosexuality Among Women and Its Relationship to Childhood Gender Role Non-Conformity and Adult Sex Role." In 1994 she completed post-doctoral training in child and adolescent psychology at Hawthorn Center, a State of Michigan psychiatric facility for youth.

Gender identity has been the focus of much of her work since 1996, when she began seeing transgender adults through the University of Michigan Comprehensive Gender Services Program; she began working with trans youth in 2004 after training at the Tavistock-Portman Clinic in London.

A WPATH member for more than 25 years, she was among the first professionals granted Certified Provider status. At the 2014 WPATH Symposium in Bangkok, she presented comparative research on gender non-conforming youth in Detroit and Boston, and in 2016 she co-authored "Initial Clinical Guidelines for Co-Occurring Autism Spectrum Disorder and Gender Dysphoria or Incongruence in Adolescents."

Darlene A. Hall, Ph.D. is a Black lesbian Psychologist with strong social justice values and 30+ years’ experience in the nonprofit sector as a mental health service provider, internship coordinator, senior administrator, funder, and, consultant. She has also taught at the graduate level and done grantmaking in family and community foundations. Currently, Darlene has a psychotherapy practice and consulting business, Intersections Consulting, providing services in Mental Health, Organizational Development/Capacity Building, Program Evaluation, Program Planning & Curricula Development, Leadership Development, Youth Development, Fundraising & Philanthropy, Power & Privilege, and Sports/Athletics & Health. A member of the CA Psychological Association’s Research Committee, Darlene facilitates a mentoring group for LGBTQ students of color/students of Color in Psychology working on their dissertation. Always striving for inner peace, Darlene plays sports, reads, writes, enjoys Star Trek/other sci fi/fantasy and musicals, is learning how to play the acoustic drum set, volunteers in her various communities, and spends time with her Cairn terrier.

Alum Bio:

Dr. Morgan Kissinger is a clinical psychologist with experience spanning correctional healthcare, clinical practice, supervision, and professional training. Dr. Kissinger currently provides psychological services within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s healthcare system and serves as a Registered Psychological Associate with Dr. Cohn’s Corrective Collective, providing clinical services to patients across California. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Kissinger serves as an Associate Training Director and Secondary Supervisor, supporting the development and training of emerging clinicians.

Dr. Kissinger earned a Doctorate and Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Alliant University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Monterey Bay. Dr. Kissinger is also a lifetime member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology.

Areas of clinical specialization include eating disorders, body dissatisfaction, LGBTQIA+ populations, personality disorders, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Across these areas, Dr. Kissinger is particularly passionate about understanding the ways individual experiences, relationships, and broader systems shape psychological well-being.

Alum Bio:

Natalie is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist whose interest in the human psyche began at a young age. Her curiosity deepened while earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of California, Riverside. After becoming a mother of two, she returned to school to pursue her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University in Irvine.

Natalie’s work as a therapist is informed by her own journey through childhood and adolescent trauma, family addiction, OCD, grief and loss, and recovery from substance use. These experiences have guided her toward a sober, grounded life and inspired her passion for helping others discover growth and healing through life’s most challenging experiences. She believes therapy is less about fixing and more about remembering who you are beneath survival.

Her approach is trauma-informed, relational, and experiential, balancing depth with practicality. Natalie works with clients navigating trauma, substance use, grief, and major life transitions, offering a space that is steady, safe, compassionate, and authentic. Her work often explores themes of grief, trauma, shadow work, and relationships with oneself and others through narrative and psychoanalytic approaches. Together, Natalie and her clients explore patterns with curiosity, develop skills for emotional regulation and resilience, and create space for growth that feels meaningful and sustainable.

Outside of her work as a therapist, Natalie enjoys expressive arts, including dance and creating charcoal art.

Rick Bazant brings more than 30 years of experience supporting children and teens through the Orange County Social Services Agency, where he worked in a variety of roles focused on the well-being of children and families. For over seven years, he has also worked as a clinician with the ERMHS program at Western Youth Services and at Olivecrest within Orange County school sites.

In addition to his clinical work, Rick has extensive experience in education and training. He served as a part-time instructor with the University of Phoenix’s Southern California system and online programs for more than 11 years. Since 2017, he has taught through the Foster and Kinship Care Education Program at Saddleback College, providing education and training to foster families and caregivers serving children placed through Orange County Social Services.

As an instructor and trainer, Rick teaches resource families about a variety of child-related topics, including children’s psychological development, psychoeducation, counseling, psychotherapy, child development dynamics, group norms, boundaries, parenting styles, family engagement, and coping skills. His courses provide foster families and caregivers with knowledge and practical skills to better understand and support the children in their care.

Rick earned his Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton, in 2003 and his Doctor of Psychology in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant University in 2009.

Mike Perkins graduated in August 2025 with an MA, MFT from the in-person cohort of Alliant University in San Diego. He received his Associate Registration number on September 13, 2025 and passed the California MFT Law & Ethics Exam on Oct 13, 2025. He has completed 2700+ hours and all 500 Relational (Family) hours toward the 3,000-hour requirement.

Mike is currently an AMFT on the bereavement services team at Hospice of the North Coast in Carlsbad, CA responsible for providing compassionate counseling to individuals and their families facing terminal illness. He has served by navigating complex emotional terrain through individual sessions, couples sessions, group counseling, and family therapy. He has gained experience conducting assessments, maintaining detailed and confidential client records in the EHR (Brightree), and developing and implementing personalized treatment plans. He actively contributes to quality improvement activities, new therapist training, and regulatory compliance at Hospice of the North Coast.

Chris specializes in couples, adolescent, and family therapy, approaching therapy through an existential and holistic Biopsychosocial-Spiritual (BPSS) lens that considers emotional well-being alongside physical health, culture, social challenges, environmental influences, and spirituality. With a background working with ADHD, ASD, eating disorders, and trauma-related concerns, Chris integrates a family systems and trauma-focused perspective with practices from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Family Therapy, and EMDR. Regardless of the modality, Chris believes therapy begins with understanding the person first and collaboratively exploring the meaning they make of their experiences. Chris has worked across hospital systems, inpatient and outpatient settings, crisis and urgent care centers, and private practice, providing experience with individuals and families facing a wide range of challenges. His approach extends beyond simply addressing symptoms, focusing instead on understanding how experiences, relationships, and broader systems interact to shape a person's life. The goal is to co-create meaning and develop sustainable change that can provide longer-term relief and growth across multiple areas of life. Research focus has been on body image concerns in both men and women, and a focus on reorganizing the social stories we tell ourselves that keep us stuck.
